- Barcode: EAN-13, UPC, or your own barcode
- Category: For reporting and organisation
- Sale price: What customers pay
- Cost price: What you paid (for margin calculation)
- Initial stock quantity: How many you have right now

Initial stock count

Automatic stock decrements

- Full stocktake: Monthly or quarterly
- Spot count: Weekly on fast-moving or high-value items
- Triggered count: When a significant discrepancy is suspected

Preparation: Ideally, pause trading during the count (or trade on a separate system). If trading continues, mark the start time — all sales after that time are accounted for in the reconciliation.
